After years of photographing I finally decided to photograph one of the Mornington Peninsula’s most popular locations amongst photographers. Arriving towards sunset, it had to be low tide to be able to walk across and get close to this location. Although being low tide, the waves were still crashing and rushing over the edge creating amazing miniature waterfalls. I slowed the shutter speed just enough to create some softness in the flow and with the landscape presenting what it was, I felt a vertical shot was best suited. The clouds were heavy, but there was just enough gap above the horizon for the sun to break through and light up the scene. I timed the shot to capture the scene once the sun had broken through the clouds, creating an atmosphere of warmth amongst the coolness the clouds created.
