A 3am wakeup call! Heading out with a photography group to Whitsunday Island to chase the sunrise, the tour guide instructed us that the Island is only accessible during high tide. This meant that we had to get on the boat by about 3.30am and about an hours drive amongst the rough waters we arrived at Whitsunday Island. Leading us out we encountered the dead tree in the middle of the beach with nothing else around. This tree is quite famous among photographers and here was my chance to add this beauty to the list. By the time we got to it after eating breakfast, the tide had started to run out leaving these amazing streaks among the sand with an array of crab holes. It took some trial and error to finally find the right sand streaks that created the shot and I could not have asked for a better composition at this amazing location. If you asked me if it was worth waking up at 3am to get this shot, you bet your ass it was :P
