Open Edition Textured Tide

Textured Tide

from $265.00

Taken from the helicopter coming back from the Great Barrier Reef (hardy reef), the pilot flew back over Whitsunday Island’s Hill Inlet. At this point it had reached high tide and the channel looked vastly different then from the start of the flight. With more water covering the sand, the textures became more emphasised and the colours that we being produced from Blue, Aqua, Green and the way the sunlight reflected off each section was just breathtaking. Near the beginning of the channel were some yachts anchored in and it just aligned perfectly with the textures. It took me a few tries to get the shot I wanted, with the limited time I had as the helicopter could not hover over the inlet as other aircrafts were flying though also. From the way the light strikes the beautiful sand on the bottom left to the way it streaks underneath the water as you follow the image up. The addition of the mangrove trees and yachts really adds such a beautiful tandem with everything that is visible in this image.
